Confira outras respostas do técnico Rogério Ceni, do Flamengo:

Participação do Everton Ribeiro

Falta objetividade ao time?

IPL just before World Cup 'a concern' for Faf du Plessis

South Africa captain Faf du Plessis has pointed to the Indian Premier League as “a concern” in terms of managing the workloads of his bowlers ahead of the World Cup in England starting at the end of May.”The obvious one for me is the IPL,” du Plessis said. “The IPL is just before the World Cup, and the last thing you want is one of your bowlers getting injured just before the tournament. That’s something that’s a concern for us, seeing how we can play that scenario out best.”With Dale [Steyn], or KG [Rabada] or any other bowlers, in terms of workload, the World Cup is still quite a while away. Probably you’ll see that closer to the World Cup we’ll think about stuff like [managing workloads].”Du Plessis’ concern echoed those of Cricket Australia, who indicated in November last year that Australia’s 2019 World Cup players can expect to have only limited involvement in the IPL, if they are able to play at all. CA’s stipulations around player availability are believed to have contributed to Kolkata Knight Riders’ decision to release Mitchell Starc.Du Plessis is part of the Chennai Super Kings squad and will be able to keep a close eye on Imran Tahir and Lungi Ngidi, both of whom have also been retained by the franchise. Kagiso Rabada remains with Delhi Capitals. Dale Steyn was not picked up this year, but Chris Morris has also been retained by Delhi, and Anrich Nortje – the Warriors and Cape Town Blitz quick – has picked up his first IPL contract with Kolkata Knight Riders just as he started to enter the frame for national honours.ALSO READ: Philander’s return amps up pressure on Pakistan’s middle orderMorris provides an example of the sorts of concerns du Plessis and coach Ottis Gibson might have. He missed South Africa’s engagements with Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe after picking up a back injury at last year’s IPL, and coach Gibson has suggested that worries over Morris’ fitness have been a primary factor in his limited chances with the national side of late.Rabada, who was South Africa’s leading Test wicket-taker in 2018 and is central to their World Cup bowling plans, admitted ahead of the second Test that the last few months have been tiring for him. If he plays a leading role in South Africa’s home series against Sri Lanka, which ends on March 24, Rabada won’t have much time to rest before the IPL, which is likely to start in late March and runs till mid of May, around two weeks before South Africa’s World Cup opener against England on May 30.”I’ve been feeling a bit tired the past three months,” Rabada said. “But it’s been getting better. That’s a positive. [I’m] gradually getting there. Hopefully, I peak at the right time [against Pakistan].”Du Plessis added that player workload and the fitness of his fast bowlers for the World Cup is something he thinks about often, but highlighted the importance of focusing on the here and now.”That’s certainly something that’s always at the back of my head. I can only speak from a personal point of view. You’re continuously thinking about the decisions, and stuff that will impact that. But it’s also important to stay in the present. If you look at the World Cup the whole time, you’ll lose sight of what’s going on in front of you. So there is that little bit of thinking ahead, but unfortunately, it’s too far out to start making decisions now that will impact then.”

Everton eyeing move to sign £40m+ "incredible" EFL gem for Dyche

At the start of the season, Everton looked on a collision course for Premier League relegation. Defeats against the likes of Luton Town and Fulham left many in doubt of Sean Dyche's side's ability to avoid the drop. But the former Burnley man has since finally started turning things around at Goodison Park, picking up wins over West Ham United and Bournemouth, before holding Brighton & Hove Albion to a 1-1 draw.

Whilst the season is yet to even reach its second half too, the Toffees' form suggests that they are more than capable of avoiding the drop come the end of the campaign, which could leave them well placed to land an exciting midfield target.

Everton transfer news

As things get back on track on the pitch, Everton's issues have continued to build away from Goodison Park, with the Premier League's financial fair play investigation potentially resulting in a 12-point deduction or transfer sanctions. The consequences could deal those in Merseyside a major blow when it comes to keeping their top flight status intact and welcoming future reinforcements. Nonetheless, whilst they remain without a punishment, the Toffees have reportedly set their sights on a rising star from the Championship.

According to The Daily Mail, Everton are interested in Archie Gray, who has impressed for Leeds United in England's second tier this season. Those at Goodison Park would, however, have to fight off the interest of the likes of Merseyside rivals Liverpool, who are reportedly lining up a bid for the teenager, as well as Crystal Palace, if they want to land Gray's signature next summer.

Leeds ace Archie Gray.

It also remains to be seen whether Everton have the financial capabilities to land the Leeds youngster, given the reported £40m-£50m price-tag placed on the midfielder by the Yorkshire club. The investment of 777 Partners could help but, at this stage, Everton are not in a position to compete with Liverpool's spending.

Everton interested in "incredible" Gray

At just 17-years-old, Gray has featured in all but one game for Leeds this season, as he continues to establish himself as the Yorkshire club's brightest spark for the future. Given his talent, the Whites will face some battle to keep hold of the teenager during the summer transfer window, especially considering the fact that Gray's stats have more than kept up with Everton's current options.

It's no surprise that the academy graduate has been at the centre of praise this season, including from Jermaine Beckford, who told Sky Sports via Leeds Live: "I thought he was incredible. Watching him play, you forget about his age, you forget he's only 17 years old. When he first started training with the first-team, he was still doing his GCSEs.

"He played with such maturity, he was so confident on the ball. He didn't rush, he didn't panic at all. Everything about his game today was absolutely spot on, and if today is anything to go by, this kid has such a bright future ahead of him. He's in the right place to learn, he's got a little bit of everything in him. Phenomenal player, he did really well today."

Per the Daily Mail, Wrexham face competition from clubs in the Premier League and Championship to sign Okonkwo, as his Arsenal contract expires this summer, and there has been no sign of talks over an extension. The stopper is thus attracting interest from the top two leagues, as well as in Europe, as he has previously impressed on loan at Austrian side Sturm Graz.

Okonkwo was named as the goalkeeper in the League Two Team of the Season, having impressed across his 34 appearances, in which he kept 13 clean sheets. As a replacement for Ben Foster, the 22-year-old has thrived, but he has previously spoken of his desire to take his time before making any decision over his future.

It also remains to be seen if Wrexham will be able to afford him; as the club have taken him on loan, they are currently paying less than half of his Arsenal salary, with the Gunners making up the rest.

WHAT OKONKWO SAID

Okonkwo has said, via The Leader: "It has been an incredible season and I am so proud of the team, the staff and everyone around the club for having the trust in me, and allow me to show what I can do.

"We will see what happens in the future."

D'Arcy Short, James Faulkner, Jofra Archer consign Brisbane Heat to second defeat

Hurricanes survived a late cameo from Ben Cutting to start their campaign in style

The Report by Tristan Lavalette22-Dec-2018Thanks to a disciplined bowling effort, Hobart Hurricanes survived late heroics from Ben Cutting to start their campaign in style against winless Brisbane Heat in the first-ever BBL match at Metricon Stadium in Gold Coast. Earlier, D’Arcy Short smashed a 52-ball 67, laden with four fours and four sixes, to take Hurricanes to 159 for 6.In a rain-abbreviated 19 overs-a-side contest, last year’s runners-up overcame a flurry from Cutting, who smashed a 32-ball 58 to almost single-handedly deliver Heat’s first victory after their opening loss to Adelaide Strikers. But James Faulkner and Jofra Archer’s tight bowling in the last two overs – where four Heat wickets fell – made sure Short’s efforts didn’t go in vain.Chasing 160, Heat lost Brendon McCullum early to a run-out, and were 5 for 93 when Chris Lynn fell for 29, before Cutting counterattacked to ensure a tight finish. It was a disappointing result for Heat after offspinner Mujeeb Ur Rahman endorsed Lynn’s decision to bowl with early wickets of Matthew Wade and Alex Doolan, but Short’s heroics ensured Hurricanes recovered with a competitive total.Inclement weather strikes Gold Coast againA hailstorm lashed the ground just an hour before play and there were fears of a washout. Wise locals, however, predicted it would pass over and that proved accurate with the match starting only 15 minutes past schedule, as the ground’s lauded draining system ensured the outfield dried sufficiently. There was much excitement when it was announced Gold Coast would host elite cricket this season, but it has been a rain-marred initiation with the T20I between Australia and South Africa last month reduced to a 10 overs-a-side encounter. It has been a contrast to Gold Coast’s sunny connotations, but perhaps a more accurate snapshot of Queensland’s fickle pre-Christmas weather.Mysterious Mujeeb showcases his bag of tricks There has been much intrigue over 17-year-old offspinner Mujeeb, who has already played all three formats for Afghanistan and showcased his precocious talent in the Indian Premier League. In his BBL debut against Strikers, Mujeeb surprisingly dazzled with the bat but was wicketless with the ball. Against Hurricanes, Mujeeb quickly found the mark after coming into bowl in the second over and immediately troubled Wade with quick deliveries zipping off the pitch. He got his man in the fourth over with a carrom ball that cramped Wade to pick up his first BBL wicket. Mujeeb did not have to wait long for his second with a cracker of a delivery to snare Doolan in the sixth over. After being hit for a boundary, Mujeeb impressively struck back with a slower delivery to bamboozle Doolan with a wrong ‘un that crashed into the stumps. He finished with figures of 2 for 23 – including 13 dot balls – from 4 overs, and possessed the variety and control befitting a veteran.Big-hitting Short’s controlled aggression Much of Hurricanes’ success last season was attributed to Short, who was the deserved Player-of-the-Tournament with 572 runs to leapfrog into Australia’s limited-overs teams. He continued his BBL love affair with a knock that included trademark belligerence but in a notably more measured manner. On a sluggish pitch, Short was watchful early and endured the ignominy of being struck in the groin area by a sharp Josh Lalor delivery. Shortly after, he came alive by crunching a Lalor slower ball over mid-on for six, elegantly holding his shape, followed by smashing a boundary through the leg-side.His most visceral blow was a baseball-style club over mid-on and into the crowd off Mark Steketee to make the most of Powerplay by scoring 30 runs off 19 runs. Short took a liking to legspinner Mitchell Swepson with consecutive sixes in the 13th over but it was his controlled aggression that spoke of a more mature approach, which should please the national selectors. His brisk 59-run partnership with Ben McDermott dominated Hurricanes’ innings, with late hitting from George Bailey and Simon Milenko giving them a boost after Short’s dismissal in the 15th over.Cutting’s heroics in vainThere has been much hype over Heat’s firepower but once again the batting order failed to deliver. They endured a disastrous start when McCullum and Max Bryant were involved in a mix-up resulting in the former captain being run-out in the first ball of the second over.Bryant shrugged off the calamity by smashing 18 runs off the next five balls with an array of clean striking to underline his innate power. His brisk 15-ball 30 ended through a spectacular diving catch from Riley Meredith leaving the pressure on Lynn and Cutting.Lynn played against type in a determined bid to bat through the innings but was unable to get going against accurate Hurricanes bowling. He fell for a sedate 29 off 37 balls in the 14th over to effectively crash the home side’s hopes despite the best efforts of Cutting, who posted his first BBL half-century.

Leicester eyeing move to sign "fearless" defender from Championship rivals

To say that Leicester City have bounced back well from Premier League relegation would be an understatement. The Foxes have matched high expectations to put themselves on course to win the Championship title and secure promotion at the first time of asking under new boss Enzo Maresca. After keeping hold of some of the crucial parts of their squad, albeit whilst losing James Maddison and Harvey Barnes, the pressure was on. But pressure has created a diamond season for Leicester so far.

Now, they are reportedly turning their attention towards further reinforcements and potentially weakening those around them in the push for promotion. And that could see one particular target arrive in the January transfer window.

Leicester City transfer news

Leicester did well in the summer to only lose Barnes and Maddison when it came to their best players and, in turn, they spent the money they gained through those sales fairly well. The Foxes welcomed the likes of Harry Winks, Stephy Mavididi and Issahaku Fatawu to hand Maresca a side capable of securing a comfortable promotion campaign. Now eight points clear in the automatic promotion places, Leicester will already be thinking about next season's Premier League battle. First, though, they could weaken a promotion rival.

According to TeamTalk, Leicester are eyeing a move to sign Sunderland right-back Trai Hume. The Black Cats could reportedly sell the 21-year-old for profit, before asking Timothee Pembele to step into his shoes. Leicester aren't alone in their interest, either, with Burnley and Leeds United also reportedly eyeing a move for the Sunderland man.

Trai Hume

It remains to be seen whether Leicester will make an offer for Hume, but it's certainly clear to see why the full-back has attracted such interest, given his age and Championship experience already throughout his young career. When the January transfer window opens, the Northern Irishman could be one to keep an eye on.

"Fearless" Hume could replace injury-prone Pereira

As things stand, Leicester's current right-back is Ricardo Pereira, who has more than enough quality for not only the Championship but the Premier League. The issue with Maresca's current option is his ability to stay fit. Pereira's injury history suggests that the Foxes need an adequate back-up to step up in the key moments.

Their current star has missed 27 games last season as Leicester suffered Premier League relegation in his absence. If Maresca's side are to stay up if they secure promotion this season, then they will need a more reliable option. Hume's stats show that he would be more than capable of being that option too.

Meanwhile, Northern Ireland manager Ian Baraclough had nothing but good things to say about the right-back after his international debut, saying via Chronicle Live:

"Trai was fearless. It was almost like another Conor Bradley when he first came in. No fear and he went at his man. He also managed to get on the end of a cross and the keeper had to parry one out. I also enjoyed it when he was in possession as well. Trai came on with ten minutes left and it's difficult to get into a game never mind make your debut, but he's gone at the full-back, got a cross in and got on the end of something at the back post."

Kane Williamson ton, Henry Nicholls 90* put New Zealand in control

Coming together at 60 for 4, the duo added an unbeaten 212 to push New Zealand’s lead to 198

The Report by Danyal Rasool06-Dec-2018Stumps Where Kane Williamson began the morning simply trying to keep his side afloat, he will put his feet up this evening pondering the best way to press home an advantage that now decidedly belongs to his side in Abu Dhabi. A superlative second-innings century, his first in Asia in the second dig, took New Zealand within two runs of a 200-run lead. His partnership with Henry Nicholls, who looked unsettled in the morning, but is no longer jittery – had exceeded 200 by stumps as the visitors flipped over the advantage that had eluded them for the best part of three days. It took a Herculean partnership, unbeaten over 80 overs, and just a handful of balls away from being the longest-ever in the UAE.It is somewhat crazy to recall the situation this game was in just over 24 hours ago. A few minutes before tea on the third day, Pakistan stood – invincibly, purportedly – at 286 for 3, with Azhar Ali and Asad Shafiq having brought up the 200-run stand, and pushing their side into the lead. But from thereon, they repeated the same mistakes that led to their downfall at this very venue in the first match of the series, even ending up eerily with exactly the same 74-run lead. The failure to press home a first-innings advantage for the second time in three Tests appeared then as if it might be costly, and Williamson and Nicholls saw to it that it is.Short of the most dramatic of collapses tomorrow morning, Pakistan will either hang on to a draw or succumb as they have done multiple times in the past on the final day. It is a damning indictment for a side that should have come out the other end with a 3-0 whitewash. There isn’t much to say about Williamson that won’t sound like an understatement. So good has the New Zealand skipper been over a number of years, it is a travesty he doesn’t get the attention leading lights such as Virat Kohli, Steven Smith and Joe Root do. Today, he was at his free-flowing best, the footwork impeccable, the drives mesmeric, and the composure hypnotic. The transfer of weight between the front and back foot never once let him down, and was especially evident when he was in his 90s.A cover drive off either foot to Hasan Ali took him first to 98, and then his 19th Test hundred. New Zealand have never lost a Test in which their talismanic captain has reached three figures in the second innings, and with the 28-year-old unbeaten on 139 at stumps, that looks unlikely to change tomorrow.Nicholls at the other end will have seen his stocks skyrocket this series. Every time he has been among the runs, they have come in the second innings with his side behind in the game, and fighting to stay alive. All three second innings have produced half-centuries, and just as the one in the first Test proved priceless, this one could achieve similarly gratifying results. It is a testament to a good player how they come through when their side is struggling, and by that yardstick, Nicholls cuts a very impressive figure, given the baptism of fire he was put through when he first came in. Standing ten runs from a Test match hundred, few batsmen will have deserved a ton more based on performances over a full series. In the final session, Pakistan surprisingly refused to take the new ball, persisting with the old one for 104 overs. It didn’t seem close to producing the results Pakistan looked for, but Sarfraz opted to stick with it for the spin it was generating. Frustratingly for him, though, New Zealand were more than a match for it, and the final session, one drop of Williamson aside, was perhaps the most controlled for the visitors. Moreover, Sarfraz continued to use Yasir Shah and Bilal Asif for much of the final two sessions, deciding against turning to Mohammad Hafeez but for one over before tea, and overlooking Haris Sohail altogether.Their catching is something Pakistan will reflect on. Yasir might have had a memorable day, breaking Clarrie Grimmett’s record for the fastest to 200 Test wickets early on with the lbw dismissal of William Somerville, but more importantly, he dropped two sharp chances Williamson provided. The first one was perhaps the easier challenge, coming at quick but not impossible speed at square leg when the right-hander was on 80. Nicholls, too, was reprieved once at short leg, and with the sort of commitment this pair showed, they weren’t in need of a helping hand from the opposition. The most curious passage of play, though, had come in the morning while Taylor was at the crease, entertaining and baffling in equal measure. His dash to get off the strike against Yasir was understandable – no batsman has fallen victim to Yasir more often, but he attacked Shaheen Afridi at the other end the way a pinch-hitter might. On a day when a Williamson-Taylor partnership might have caused the greatest damage to Pakistan, New Zealand’s most prolific scorer was on a devil-may-care mission for a cameo instead. It never amounted to more than that, though, with a well-laid plan by Pakistan seeing him find the deep-square-leg fielder, for a 14-ball 22.Tragically for Pakistan, the pair that followed had a more solemn approach to the task at hand. Nicholls and Williamson put on a masterclass for the ages and effectively batted Pakistan out of a game they controlled for over three days. There is a lot Pakistan could learn from them about how to press home an advantage when you have it, but the time for learning has long passed. Abu Dhabi 2018 looks set to have Part 2 after all.

Tamim, Shakib back in squad for WI ODIs

Both players had missed Bangladesh’s previous ODI series, against Zimbabwe, due to fitness issues

Shakib Al Hasan and Tamim Iqbal have returned to Bangladesh’s ODI side for the three-match series against West Indies, which starts from December 9. Both players had missed Bangladesh’s previous ODI series, against Zimbabwe in October, due to fitness issues.Shakib made his return from a finger injury by leading the Test side to a 2-0 win over West Indies. Tamim, who suffered multiple injuries, has taken longer. He had fractured his wrist during the Asia Cup in September and then missed the West Indies Tests due to a side strain. He was named in the BCB XI squad for a one-day practice match against the West Indians on December 6.Their inclusions have forced Najmul Hossain Shanto and Fazle Mahmud out. Mahmud had made two ducks against Zimbabwe. With the return of Tamim and Shakib, the Bangladesh team management will have a problem of plenty in the top order. They will have to pick one out of Imrul Kayes, Soumya Sarkar and Liton Das as Tamim’s opening partner, with Shakib set to bat at No. 3. Among the three contenders, Imrul had a good run recently, emerging as the top run-getter in the ODI series against Zimbabwe, scoring 349 runs in three matches with two centuries and a fifty.Bangladesh Squad: Mashrafe Mortaza (capt), Tamim Iqbal, Imrul Kayes, Soumya Sarkar, Liton Das, Shakib Al Hasan, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Rubel Hossain, Mustafizur Rahman, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nazmul Islam, Mohammad Mithun, Mohammad Saifuddin, Abu Hider, Ariful Haque.
