O Cruzeiro ainda aguarda a liberação do Atlético para providenciar a inscrição de Fred no Boletim Informativo Diário (BID), da Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF). O dirigente chegou a cutucar o rival, alegando que o Alvinegro deve estar medo de ver o Cruzeiro largando com três pontos no Campeonato Mineiro.

It does feel as though Leeds are pushing hard to get a deal over the line, in what could feel like a significant piece of business at Elland Road if it comes off.

Aaronson has impressed hugely at Salzburg, enjoying 22 goal contributions in 51 appearances (10 goals, 12 assists) and being described as ‘amazing’ by Michael Unverdorben, sports editor at Austrian newspaper Salzburger Nachrichten.

The 21-year-old has shone mostly as a No.10 for Salzburg, often playing in a diamond midfield, so he could provide a level of guile not always seen in the middle of the park at Leeds, where Mateusz Klich has the most assists (two) in the Premier League of anyone in that position this season.

A diretoria do Corinthians adotou uma postura firme em relação à saída do zagueiro Pablo. Neste domingo, após o jogo da entrega da taça do Campeonato Brasileiro, empate em 2 a 2 contra o Atlético-MG, o presidente Roberto de Andrade bateu duro na postura do jogador. E deu de ombros para o fato de o jogador ter ficado de fora da festa por decisão da diretoria. Ele estava emprestado pelo Bourdeaux (FRA) até o fim do ano e não veste mais a camisa do clube.

-Foi uma decisão do Corinthians, no momento em que ele decidiu não aceitar a proposta do Corinthians, ele não é mais jogador do clube. Não tem problema nenhum, ele participou da campanha até o dia em que ele não quis mais ficar, foi uma decisão dele também, não só do clube – afirmou Andrade na Arena.

Já o Guilherme Arana disse que até assinou o contrato de quatro anos, não quis revelar o clube, mas trata-se do Sevilla. Disse que falta apenas o presidente assinar para que ele seja oficializado jogador do clube espanhol.

Sobre o goleiro Cássio, que o técnico Fábio Carille disse que não sabe se ele continua em 2018, Roberto de Andrade foi enfático ao negar possibilidade de saída.

Sky Sports reporter Pete Graves has claimed that the Magpies are keen on the 22-year-old forward, whilst they are also on the lookout for players with experience.

He Tweeted: “On second striker – #nufc rate Ekitike but nowhere near at the price they’ve been quoted. Some interest in Darwin Nunez as well but Benfica reluctant to sell. There’s a feeling amongst key members of the ownership that Premier League experience will be key in survival battle.”

Excitement

This update from Graves will surely excite Newcastle fans for multiple reasons. Firstly, it shows that they realise they need players who know how to perform in the English top-flight to get them out of the hole they are in.

The Magpies are 19th in the Premier League table and could be facing relegation unless they are able to turn things around quickly and pick up points to drag themselves out of the bottom three. This means that they need to sign players who can come in and hit the ground running.

Whilst it is possible for any new addition to do that, those who are already accustomed to performing in England’s top division will be able to instantly get going with no issues as they won’t need to adapt to the league. Whereas, someone coming in from a foreign division with no prior experience in the country may need time to find their feet and this could cost Newcastle points in the short-term.

However, there is a balance to be had and the claim that the club are keen on Darwin Nunez will surely excite the Toon Army irrespective of his lack of history in England. He has scored a whopping 13 goals in 14 league matches for Benfica in the Primeira Liga, showing that he can score on a consistent basis for the Portuguese giants.

The attacker has also scored three goals in two Champions League starts this season. This highlights his knack for finding the back of the net at the top level and suggests that he’d have a good chance of being a success for Newcastle, whilst he also has room to develop at the age of 22 and could be a signing for now and for the future.

Therefore, Newcastle could strike a balance between bringing in players with prior Premier League experience and finding talent from abroad with the potential to explode for Eddie Howe’s team in the coming months and years.

Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is contemplating sending Liam Shaw out on loan this January.

What’s the talk?

In recent comments cited by Glasgow Live, the Bhoys boss revealed that talks will take place with the 20-year-old regarding his short-term future at the club in the coming weeks, before suggesting that the defensive midfielder could be sent out on a temporary deal in the January transfer window in order to further his development in professional football.

When asked why Shaw, as well as fellow summer signings Osaze Urhoghide and James McCarthy, have played so few minutes this season, the 56-year-old said: “It certainly hasn’t been an easy introduction for any of our players and the fact so many of them have already hit the ground running and made an impact is great and positive.

“The key to that is to keep going obviously because again we’re only in the early stages of developing this football team and our players. With the three guys you’ve mentioned, all different scenarios.

“Osaze and Liam, [it’s been] difficult for them in the fact that sometimes when you bring in young players – they’re certainly players we brought in as development players – [it’s] much easier to bring those kinds in when the team is settled.

“But, obviously, we brought them in at a time where a lot of new players are in the team, the team’s finding its way. Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to get a lot of game time for them but they’re working hard at training every day. They’re pushing themselves. I believe even though they haven’t played, they’ve improved as footballers. If you train every day with us, one thing I will say is you will improve.

“It’s about now getting them the right opportunity, that may be here, that may be a loan deal somewhere but we’ll make those decisions come January. We’ll sit down with the boys and see what the best way forward is.”

Nightmare

While it is indeed true that, should he not be awarded much first-team football under Postecoglou over what remains of the current campaign, a loan away from Parkhead would better suit Shaw’s development as a footballer, the fact that the midfielder has not played a single minute senior football this season is rather odd.

Indeed, following an appearance in a pre-season fixture, the 56-year-old appeared to be impressed with what he had seen of the 20-year-old, stating: “Liam Shaw was good [against Sheffield Wednesday]. He grew into the game, like a lot of the young guys. Liam’s got a real presence about him. He’s a big lad. He’s only beginning his steps in the professional world.”

Furthermore, it is not as if the midfielder is completely inexperienced in professional football, as he made 19 Championship appearances for Sheffield Wednesday last season, over which he scored one goal and created two big chances for his teammates, as well as making an average of 0.3 key passes, 0.4 interceptions, 0.7 tackles and winning 3.4 duels per game.

As such, while it is undeniable that Shaw is still very much at the beginning of his professional career, and undoubtedly has much developing to do in the game, when considering the fact that Tom Rogic’s injury highlighted just how short Postecoglou is of options in the middle of the park, the argument that sending Shaw out on loan in January could turn into something of a nightmare for Celtic is a rather easy one to make.

Indeed, while there is the January transfer window to consider, should further Celtic players pick up injuries between now and Christmas – the busiest time of the footballing calendar – the manager could well be very much in need of a young and exciting versatile midfielder to plug a gap in his side, something that sending Shaw out on loan would starve Postecoglou of.
